Juan Cabrera’s appointment is split between MU and UMKC. At MU, his appointment includes extension and research responsibilities focused on horticulture crops. He developed extension programs focused on consumer horticulture, commercial horticulture, and increasing awareness of MU Extension among Hispanics in Missouri. He plans to conduct applied research projects that will result in practical recommendations that will improve the horticulture farming industry in Missouri. A Big Plan for a Small Berry

Andrew Thomas has big plans for a small berry. Thomas, research assistant professor in the Division of Plant Science and Technology in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources at the University of Missouri, has received a Specialty Crop Research Initiative (SCRI) grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the project Moving American Elderberry into Mainstream Production and Processing.
