Animal Sciences Extension

Extension’s major role in the Division of Animal Sciences is to extend its research and knowledge base to meet the needs of all Missouri citizens.

The University of Missouri is firmly based on the land-grant philosophy of teaching, research and extension. The people of Missouri expect this University to provide them with opportunities for lifelong education so they can thrive, grow and prosper as individuals, families and communities. The University has a long and successful history of meeting those expectations through extension.

The Division of Animal Sciences is home to specialists with joint appointments in extension, research and teaching. We communicate the Division of Animal Sciences’ innovative bench-to-barnyard research to farms and ranches across the state of Missouri. By encouraging technology adoption, responding to critical issues and supporting livestock producers, the Division of Animal Sciences Extension programs ensure sustainable and profitable livestock production in the state of Missouri.
