Per MU policy, all software must be approved by IT prior to purchase and use, even if the software is free.
Most university software is available for installation by users through the Software Center, a program installed on all managed university computers.
Please visit the DoIT Software Directory for a list of approved software. Be mindful of the data classification level (DCL) listed for each title. If you need to use an approved software title at a higher DCL, it must be reviewed and approved by IT Compliance. If your software is not listed in the software directory or is being used at a higher DCL, you must complete and submit the compliance review form before contacting your department’s IT person for installation.
