The Division of Animal Sciences at the University of Missouri is one of six divisions in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR).

We are committed to providing high-quality education to our students. We offer both undergraduate and graduate programs in animal science. Our faculty members are noted for teaching and mentoring excellence.
With globally recognized expertise, we teach in five discipline areas: reproductive and environmental physiology, ruminant and monogastric nutrition, genetics/genomics, meat science and livestock production, and across six species: swine, dairy cattle, beef cattle, poultry, companion animals and horses.
Our graduates become industry leaders nationwide and go on to successful careers in areas such as:
- Business (feed, pharmaceutical, and meat industries; dairy and poultry products; public relations and research)
- Production and management (farming/ranching; managers of livestock and poultry operations; zookeepers; consultants and technical service representatives)
- Government (USDA)
- Education (extension, teaching, and research)
Animal Sciences faculty are affiliated with multiple CAFNR Programs of Distinction, including the Interdisciplinary Reproduction and Health Group, the MU Livestock Engineering Team, the MU Forage-Livestock Group and the Show-Me-Select™ Replacement Heifer Program.
