2025 Applications
Have you considered serving your peers in a leadership role? If so, apply now to serve on the 2025 CAFNR Student Council Leadership Team. To apply, submit the following information and responses in a Word file (one page) and a single-page resume to CAFNRStuCo@missouri.edu by Nov. 1 at 11:59 PM. Please include “2025 Student Council Application” in the subject line. Interviews will be held the week of November 4th.

- Academic Year
- Major
- Identify the top 3 leadership positions for which you would like to serve (President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Coordinator, CAFNR Week Co-Chair, At-Large Representative). See the Student Council Constitution above for position responsibilities.

- In what ways will you use your background, skills and experiences to contribute to the Student Council Leadership Team?
Outstanding Student Awards
The CAFNR Student Council annually recognizes students who have demonstrated the core values of the University and qualities of excellence associated with the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. CAFNR clubs/organizations and degree programs may nominate one student for each academic level (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior).
Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
Nominations are categorized into the following academic levels based on the number of completed credit hours. Credit hours in progress are not counted toward the academic level.
- Freshman: Completed less than 30 credit hours
- Sophomore: Completed between 30 and 59 credit hours
- Junior: Competed between 60 and 89 credit hours
- Senior: Completed 90 or more credit hours and graduating next May, August, or December
Nominations & Submissions
Annual Deadline: March 1
Use 12 pt. font, 1” margins, and single space within paragraphs for all documents.
Nomination packets must include:
- Nominee’s statement focused on why he/she should be selected as the Outstanding Student by addressing the following selection criteria (limited to one page):
- Evidence of Excellence – share how you have demonstrated academic excellence at MU including, but not limited to cumulative GPA, major, career aspirations, and projects completed.
- Innovative Thinking – includes, but not limited to research, service learning, and experiential learning opportunities completed and what you have learned and shared from these experiences.
- Inspirational Impact – includes, but not limited to participation in study abroad and engagement and leadership in campus organizations or clubs.
- Personal Connections – includes, but not limited to relationships developed, involvement in your degree program, and volunteer engagement.
- Resume (limited to one page).
- A letter of support from an advisor, faculty member, or the president of the student club/organization sponsoring the nomination (limited to one page).
Submit nominations to CAFNRStuCo@missouri.edu with the subject line Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Nomination. It is preferred that nomination packet be submitted in a single PDF attached to the email with the file name: Year_Academic Level_LastFirstName (e.g., 2022_Freshman_TigerTruman). If combining of files into a single PDF is not possible, please submit the three documents in a single email using the subject line as described above.
Selection will be made by a panel representing the following groups: 1) Student Council Representatives, 2) Faculty, 3) Emeriti Faculty, 4) Staff, and/or 5) Alumni.

Outstanding Student Club/Organization
The CAFNR Student Council annually recognizes a student club/organization that demonstrates the core values of the University and qualities of excellence associated with the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
Eligibility: The club/organization must be recognized and in good standing with the University’s Organization Resource Group (ORG). The previous year’s outstanding club/organization recipient is not eligible.
Nominations & Submissions
Annual Deadline: March 1
Use 12 pt. font, 1” margins, and single space within paragraphs for all documents.
Nomination packets must include:
- Statement focused on why the club/organization should be selected as the college’s Outstanding Club/Organization by addressing the following (limited to two pages):
- Mission/Purpose/Goals of the club/organization and how these were achieved during the past calendar year.
- Description of sponsored activities and/or events and how these activities/events supported member’s personal growth and career development.
- Description of sponsored community service activities/events, including how the community and the club/organization members benefit.
- Statement regarding the cub/organization’s commitment to excellence.
- Supporting documents, may include but not limited to photos, fliers, display monitor slide (limited to two pages).
Submit nominations to CAFNRStuCo@missouri.edu with the subject line Club/Organization Nomination. Submit packets in a single PDF attached to the email with the file name: Year_Club/Organization (e.g., 2022_TrumanClub).
Selection will be made by a panel representing the following groups: 1) Student Council Representatives, 2) Faculty, 3) Emeriti Faculty, 4) Staff, and/or 5) Alumni.
