Message from Dojin Ryu

It has been a busy year for the Division of Food, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences (FNES)! I have just completed my first full year as director. I am pleased with progress we are making in our mission areas of teaching, research and extension. I share with you here a few highlights! FNES welcomed 126 new undergraduates in August; a 25% increase from last year! Total combined opening day enrollment in our two majors, Food Science & Nutrition and Nutrition & Exercise Physiology (NEP), was 426. The fourth annual CAFNR Research Symposium was held Tuesday, Oct. 1, and included a poster session. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs contributed posters to the session. In total, 89 posters were exhibited.
