The CAFNR Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (C-DRIG) are offered through the CAFNR Office of Research. The C-DRIG grant supports up to $2,000 or partially support dissertation research projects proposed by doctoral students in the College.

Biochemistry student wins American Association for Cancer Research Undergraduate Scholar Award
Blake Arciga, senior biochemistry major, was awarded the American Association for Cancer Research Undergraduate Scholar Award for his work in Satyanarayana Rachagani’s veterinary medicine and surgery lab.

Andrew Clarke honored with award from American Meat Science Association
Andrew Clarke, associate professor of food science, received the 2025 Signal Service Fellow Award from the American Meat Science Association for outstanding contributions to the meat industry. The AMSA Signal Service Fellow Award was established in 1956 and is given to members in recognition of devoted service and lasting contributions to the meat industry and to the association. Clarke’s research focuses on meat processing technology with emphasis on restructured or low-fat meat products, supercritical fluid extraction and meat extrusion.

Jeff Wood recognized by agInnovation North Central
Jeff Wood, assistant professor in the School of Natural Resources, was recognized by agInnovation North Central as the recipient of the 2025 agInnovation Early Career Excellence in Agricultural Innovation Award. Animal Sciences faculty member named Mizzou Postdoctoral Faculty Mentor of the Year
Peter Sutovsky Peter Sutovsky, professor in the Division of Animal Sciences, was named by Mizzou as the 2024/2025 Postdoctoral Faculty Mentor of the Year Award winner. This award represents an appreciation for an individual who has demonstrated either a profound, sustained, or leadership contribution to improving the postdoctoral experience. The award process is administered by the Office of Postdoctoral Education. The MU Postdoctoral Association reviews the nominations and selects the winner.
