“The Division of Animal Sciences’ Equine Science Program offers hands-on coursework for undergraduate students,” said Mikaela Adams, instructor and MU Equine Teaching Facility manager. “Students of all backgrounds, from extensive to beginner equine handlers, are given opportunities to practice safe equine handling and assist with the daily care of the horses in our program. Our courses focus on the biological sciences of equine management, where the students can apply their previous coursework knowledge directly to what they are practicing at the facility. In addition, students have the option to pursue a Certification in Equine Science and Management.”
