Julian Binfield
Binfield has over 20 years of policy analysis experience with the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute. Over that period, he has used dynamic partial equilibrium models to analyze a range of policies including trade policies and domestic support policies, as well as the impact of external factors such as weather and changes in the macroeconomy. He has coordinated several long-term research projects with international colleagues in Europe and Africa. Wyatt Thompson is a professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics. He joined the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute at the University of Missouri in 2006 to work on biofuel markets and policies, agricultural policies, and trade. Before joining the team, he worked at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris, France, analyzing export competition policies, measuring agricultural policy support, and assessing market impacts of policies, particularly those of the European Union, Mexico, and the United States. Harvey S. James, Jr.
Harvey S. James, Jr., Ph.D., is Professor of Agricultural and Applied Economics in the Division of Applied Social Sciences at the University of Missouri. James’s research focuses on applied ethics and the economic foundations of trust, happiness, and ethical behavior. He is currently conducting research on how the structure of agricultural networks affects perceptions of fairness and how cognitive biases contribute to problems of foodborne illness outbreaks. Scott Brown
Scott Brown joined Mizzou in 1989 as a research associate in FAPRI, the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute. He is an expert in Missouri agricultural policy, as well as the livestock market outlook and dairy policy. He has testified before the U.S. Congress on the quantitative effects of changes in federal dairy and livestock policies, and currently works with the Missouri legislature on the economic effects of state policy options on Missouri agriculture. Liu has extensive experience in applied research, ranging from consumer consumption behaviors to food handlers’ food safety practices, in various food system settings, such as restaurants, schools, faith-based organizations, and private homes. Dae-Young Kim is a professor of Hospitality Management (HM) at the University of Missouri.
