Hannah Hemmelgarn oversees the Center for Agroforestry’s training programs, partnerships, and events. Her background as an agroforestry practitioner, an educator, and a program coordinator informs her work to advance agroforestry implementation through network development, training program design, and critical research connections. She and her staff team coordinate the Annual Agroforestry Symposium, the Agroforestry Training Academy and seasonal public and professional training events, develop content for Action in Agroforestry E-News, and facilitate student engagement and internships. Davide Dal Pos
Dal Pos studies parasitoid wasps, one of the most diverse yet least understood groups of animals on Earth. As a taxonomist, he discovers and describes new species and builds global resources such as the World Ichneumonidae Database (WID) to chart their diversity. A core part of his research asks why insects look the way they do, combining detailed anatomy, imaging, and anatomical ontologies that make morphological data standardized and machine-readable across studies. Shelley Curry
Curry is an Assistant Professor of Meat Science in the Division of Animal Sciences at the University of Missouri. Curry’s research program focuses on fresh meat quality and lipid biology, with an emphasis on understanding how animal nutrition, physiology and pre-harvest stress influence muscle lipid metabolism, carcass composition and subsequent meat quality. Elliott Dennis is an agricultural economist whose research focuses on livestock, poultry, and meat markets. His work examines how livestock are priced and marketed; how producers can manage price volatility; and how issues of production and policy affect producers, processors, and consumers. Through applied research, market analysis, and outreach, Dennis develops practical decision tools and educational programs for livestock and poultry producers and meat processors.
