What do you do in your current role with the University of Missouri?
I consult with livestock producers of all ages and all sizes of operations to provide unbiased, research-based information for their everyday questions or concerns that impact their business. This may be answering a single question, or providing continuous guidance to address a long-term issue.

What is your favorite part about the work you do?
My favorite part of the work I do is viewing the successes of the commercial producers as well as the young people that I have the privilege to serve each day. Examples include marketing Show-Me-Select heifers, helping a 4-H member earn a championship with a home-raised calf, or showing an AI-school participant how to start a new cattle breeding business – and that’s just to name a few.
How are you helping MU A&E Extension reach our #2xAg2030 goal?
I’m helping MU A&E reach our #2xAg2030 goal by providing access to and extending the educational resources of the University of Missouri and other institutions to serve livestock producers in their operations. This positively impacts productivity, profitability and/or sustainability. I’m working toward a common goal of addressing the needs of my clientele that may impact their operation and life in some meaningful measure.
What is something your CAFNR and MU Extension teammates may not know about you?
– I grew up showing livestock, especially cattle and continue to have a passion for showing cattle with my children.
– I’m an avid sports fan, especially the Kansas City Chiefs
– I am surrounded by chemists. Four members of my family (wife, father, sister and cousin) have earned PhDs in Chemistry (Analytical, Organic or General).
