Advisor Alison Rutledge honored with Golden Apple Award

Alison Rutledge, senior academic advisor in the Division of Biochemistry, was surprised with the CAFNR Golden Apple Award Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Hendrickson’s research tackles a variety of food system topics. She examines food system structure; alternative ways of participating in the food system for farmers, consumers and communities and the social, economic and ecological impacts thereof; and the impacts of food system organization and technological change on international farming systems.

Michelle Brooks Named Driver to Distinction

CAFNR Vice Chancellor and Dean Christopher Daubert recognized Instructor Michelle Brooks with the CAFNR Driver to Distinction award during a surprise visit to her classroom Sept. 4, 2025. Heike Bücking, director of the Division of Plant Science and Technology; Debbie Finke, professor and associate director of the Division of Plant Science and Technology; Vicki Bryan, coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Plant Group; and David Braun, director of the Interdisciplinary Plant Group, joined Daubert for the surprise. Brooks was honored for her years of service to the Mizzou plant community’s research and teaching needs.

2025 C-DRIG recipients announced

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Office of Research offers the CAFNR Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (C-DRIG) of up to $2,000 to support or partially support dissertation research projects proposed by doctoral students in the College. Eligible students will have completed their coursework and have advanced to candidacy or will advance to candidacy within six months of the C-DRIG awards. Proposals are evaluated by the CAFNR Research Council, an advisory body that advises CAFNR Office of Research and is made up of representatives from each Division in the College.
