One of six divisions in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR), the Division of Applied Social Sciences (DASS) at the University of Missouri is a community of faculty, students and professionals who are passionate about food, agriculture and rural communities. DASS has several centers and institutes that focus on research and outreach in areas such as:

  • FAPRI that provides objective analyses of agricultural markets and policies, which helps policymakers make informed decisions.
  • GICL that prepares participants to lead and manage cooperatives, which are important economic engines in rural communities.
  • The Interdisciplinary Center for Food Security that brings together researchers from across campus to address the complex challenges facing our food system in Missouri and beyond.
  • The McQuinn Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership that helps students develop the skills they need to start and grow their own businesses.
