In addition to sports related field trips, tours to the Born historic neighborhood, Picasso museum and the nearby beach town of Sitges offer a chance to lose yourself in the impressive city and surrounding areas of Barcelona.

Accommodation and Meals

Students will be housed in self-catered apartments or residence hall with shared occupancy bedrooms.

Students will be responsible for their own meal costs. Though the individual spending habits of each student will vary, please see the budget information below for an estimate of the average out-of-pocket meal expenses.

Program Travel

Students will arrange their own round-trip travel to Barcelona and will be provided with suggested flight dates and arrival times. For budgeting purposes, estimates are provided below. Students who wish to have the cost of their flight billed directly to their MU accounts should contact the Director of International Study Programs to make arrangements through MU’s preferred travel agency. Transportation from the Barcelona airport directly to your accommodation will be provided. Once in Barcelona, all program-related travel is included in the program fee.

Academics

Students will be enrolled in 5 credits of AFNR _0590, an International Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources “placeholder” course. This “placeholder” enrollment corresponds to the 10 ECTS credits in which students will be enrolled at SAI. At the conclusion of the program, final grades are issued by SAI. These credits transfer back to MU on an A/F basis, with 10 ECTS credits transferring as 5 MU credits.

Students must complete a Course Proposal for Study Abroad with assistance from the CAFNR Director of International Study Programs. Once this is completed, students will work with their advisors to determine how the credits will count toward their individual graduation plans.
