
Walter Gassmann, professor in the Division of Plant Science and Technology, and director of the Bond Life Sciences Center, has received the Noel T. Keen Award from the American Phytopathological Society (APS).
Gassmann is an outstanding researcher and educator and is a caring, thoughtful, highly valued colleague motivated by a strong sense of community, according to the APS’ announcement. The quality, creativity and significance of his research has led to national and international recognition as a leading program in the molecular characterization of the plant defense response to pathogens.
The Noel T. Keen Award recognizes American Phytopathological Society (APS) members for research excellence in molecular plant pathology.
