The University of Missouri Financial Planning Association (MU FPA) was named outstanding student Organization at the 2025 Celebration of Excellence awards ceremony, held Thursday, April 17.

MU FPA is committed to educating students about the financial planning industry while providing professional development opportunities that prepare them for successful careers. Their mission is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and connections necessary to excel in financial planning, while fostering a strong sense of community among peers and industry professionals.

With more than 30 members, MU FPA aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, empowering students as they become the next generation of financial planning professionals. The group hosted 32 professional development and networking activities in 2024, including industry guest speakers, conferences, workshops, firm visits and social events.

MU FPA also promotes mentorship, community building and strengthening ties between Mizzou and the financial planning industry. The group participates in peer mentorship programs, as well as industry and university partnerships.
