Success on and off the mat

Keegan O'Toole and Rocky Elam, NCAA Div. I Wrestling All-Americans, work hard to balance their sport and their studies.

The Designing and Delivering Educational/Leadership Programs course (AG_ED_LD 4340), has given students the chance to connect with industry partners and develop educational programs to aid those partners. The class, which includes a collaboration with the University of Illinois Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication program, pairs students from both universities with an outside stakeholder. Phillips serves as the philanthropy chair for the Sigma Alpha sorority, the fundraising chair for the Swine Club and a member of the Conservation Leadership Corp. Phillips also serves as the vice president of communications for the CAFNR Ambassadors. Phillips is interested in pursuing a law degree after she earns her undergraduate degree in agriculture. Finding the Perfect Fit

In high school, Ellen Phillips gained an appreciation for law and policy through the local YMCA’s youth and government program.

The agriculture degree program in the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) allows students to create their own unique college experience. Students tailor a course of study to their interests, choosing concentration areas from CAFNR’s other degree programs. That opportunity was exactly what Chase Monte was looking for when he arrived at MU. Photo courtesy of Chase Monte.
