Q&A With Tavair Tapp

Tapp is the office support specialist in the School of Natural Resources

What are your job duties/job responsibilities in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources?

I am the office support assistant for the Office of Academic Programs within the School of Natural Resources. My responsibilities include: helping get grad plans approved and submitted, keeping students informed of job/internship opportunities, and I do the schedule changes for the courses offered in the upcoming semesters. I am also a member of our social media team, helping operate SNR’s Facebook and Instagram.

How long have you worked in CAFNR?

I happily rejoined the University of Missouri family in April 2020.

What do you enjoy about working for CAFNR/Mizzou?

The passion of the faculty, staff and students. I believe that everyone plays a part in the overall atmosphere of the school. I feel like everyone supports everyone to the best of their ability in this aspect especially.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy taking spontaneous trips to the various state parks here in Missouri. I have two nieces and an abundance of honorary nieces and nephews who I love spending time with. I enjoy live concerts and events. I am a True/False volunteer and look forward to working at the festival each year. Also, I am fond of photography (especially black and white) and try to practice that regularly.

What is something your co-workers/other CAFNR employees don’t know about you?

I’m a self-taught musician of drums, guitar, bass and piano. Anything music I love. I dabble in writing music as well. I work on electric guitars and I have built a few from scratch. I own a few hundred vinyl records and enjoy putting those on to wind down in the evenings.
