Fourth annual CAFNR Research Symposium poster winners announced
The fourth annual CAFNR Research Symposium was held Tuesday, Oct. 1, and included a poster session. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs contributed posters to the session. In total, 89 posters were exhibited.

Five CAFNR faculty members named as highly ranked scholars

Ahmed Balboula receives Provost’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award
Ahmed Balboula, assistant professor, Division of Animal Sciences, received the Provost’s Outstanding Junior Faculty Research and Creative Activity Award. Research conducted in the Balboula laboratory employs cutting-edge imaging technologies, transgenic mouse models and genetic approaches to understand the molecular mechanisms regulating mammalian oocyte meiosis and early embryonic development. This award gives special recognition to junior faculty, who are in the early phases of their careers, for superior research and creative activity on the MU campus.

Ahmed Balboula, assistant professor in the Division of Animal Sciences, received the 2023 SSR Virendra B. Mahesh New Investigator Award from the Society of the Study of Reproduction (SSR).
