Making valuable connections

Grace Anderson has gained incredible hands-on learning experiences through Tiger Garden.
This year, CAFNR welcomed two students from Ecole d’Ingénieurs de PURPAN – Anne-Fleur Le Segretain du Patis and Domitille Tissier. As students at Ecole d’Ingénieurs de PURPAN, Anne-Fleur and Domitille are required to study in another country outside of France. They said they chose the United States to learn English, as well as learn more about American culture.

Success on and off the mat

Keegan O'Toole and Rocky Elam, NCAA Div. I Wrestling All-Americans, work hard to balance their sport and their studies.
The University of Missouri men’s and women’s disc golf teams carried undefeated seasons into 2022 College Disc Golf National Championship competition, and both teams would end their seasons the same way – as national champions. Two CAFNR students played important roles in the wins – Alexis Kerman (pictured front row, far left) and Jared Brabant (pictured back row, far left). Kerman is a graduate student in natural resources, who also earned her undergraduate degree in parks, recreation and sport from MU. Brabant also received his bachelor’s degree from Mizzou, in natural resource science and management. He is currently a graduate student in plant, insect and microbial sciences. Two CAFNR graduate students helped Mizzou capture men's and women's disc golf national championships.
The Designing and Delivering Educational/Leadership Programs course (AG_ED_LD 4340), has given students the chance to connect with industry partners and develop educational programs to aid those partners. The class, which includes a collaboration with the University of Illinois Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication program, pairs students from both universities with an outside stakeholder. Developing educational programs

AG_ED_LD 4340 course has given students the chance to connect with industry partners and develop educational programs.
The Mizzou National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) team won this year's National Student Marketing Competition. Their first-place presentation centered on the GerriRig Grain Management System, a product the team modeled after the Grain Weevil, a grain bin safety and management robot. MU competed against more than 20 teams in early April during NAMA’s annual Agri-Marketing Conference. Educational opportunities on a global stage

CAFNR students spent spring break in Italy and Holland for study abroad opportunities.
A Guinness World Record holder for highest kneeling jump (male), senior Tyler Lutz is gaining valuable hands-on learning experiences through the nutrition and exercise physiology degree program. Courses such as NEP 4200: Sports Performance and Conditioning have given Lutz an opportunity to improve his athletic performances through new procedures, techniques and modalities.

One for the Record Books

A multi-sport athlete at Southern Boone County High School in Ashland, Mo., Tyler Lutz quickly found success as a triple and long jumper on his school’s track and field team. That success turned into a passion for Lutz, as he began precise exercises to maximize his leaping ability. Lutz has continued to perfect his craft as a student at the University of Missouri.
