Marci Crosby, instructor of animal sciences, recently received the 2022 Excellence in Advising Award from the MU Advisors Forum. Since 1995, MU has honored one faculty member and one staff member each year who have demonstrated the qualities associated with outstanding undergraduate student advising.
Crosby manages the MU Equine Teaching Facility.
“Marci facilitates a culture of inclusion and exploration for all students. Students with years of equine experience work alongside those who are interacting with horses for the first time, and everyone has equal opportunities and is made to feel welcome,” said CAFNR alum Natalie Duncan, BS ’15 Animal Sciences, MS ’18 Animal Sciences.
Crosby has been instrumental in continuing to build the Equine Science program at Mizzou, which recently started an Equine Science and Management Certificate. Since 2020, 15 students have successfully earned the certificate. There are currently 58 students pursing the credential.
