Washburn is the program manager for the Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF)

What are your job duties/job responsibilities in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources?

I am the program manager for the newly formed Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF). In this role, I manage relationships with our collaborators at other land-grant universities, oversee all communications and public relations efforts for the center to gain visibility, and generally keep all our projects on track! I also offer communications and PR assistance to the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI).

How long have you worked in CAFNR?

I joined CAFNR in May 2022 – just a little over 8 months. Previously, I worked in the agriculture industry as a digital marketing manager and received my MS in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University.

What do you enjoy about working for CAFNR/Mizzou?

As a CAFNR grad, it’s an incredible opportunity to work for the college that offered so much to me. There are so many brilliant, kind and genuine colleagues that I interact with on a daily basis, and I’m fortunate to work with them!

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, gardening, photography, skiing and visiting family/friends. I also find enjoyment in running and training for 5Ks and half-marathons.

What is something your co-workers/other CAFNR employees don’t know about you?

I grew up showing American Quarter Horses and still have a passion for the equine industry. I can geek out on anything horse-related!
