Get to Know Charlie Nilon

Nilon is a professor of urban wildlife management in the School of Natural Resources.

What are your job duties/job responsibilities in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources?

My primary job is teaching, research and service. All three of those are connected to urban wildlife conservation, urban ecology and human dimensions of natural resources. I’m also the degree coordinator for the Natural Resources Science and Management Emphasis Area and the coordinator for the Human Dimensions of Natural Resources Graduate Emphasis Area.

How long have you worked in CAFNR?

I’ve been in CAFNR for 33 years. Since before CAFNR was CAFNR (when it was College of Agriculture), and in SNR before it SNR (when it was the School of Forestry, Fisheries and Wildlife)

What do you enjoy about working for CAFNR/Mizzou?

I like the people in CAFNR. The students, faculty and staff.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I like to travel, and I like to hang out with my two grandchildren.

What is something your co-workers/other CAFNR employees don’t know about you?

I’ve been the advisor for the Mizzou MANNRS chapter since it was founded by Diann Jordan in 1990.
