David Janish, CEO of FCS Financial, has been named a 2020 Honorary Member of the CAFNR Alumni Association. Since taking this position in 2013, Janish has immersed himself in the agriculture, civic and Mizzou communities. He is a member of the CAFNR Foundation board and has served on the investments and marketing committees. He is part of the CAFNR Vice Chancellor and Dean’s leadership cabinet and the Food, Beverage and Forest Products Manufacturing Initiative, a Grand Idea in the college’s strategic plan. Janish informs the college what skills and experiences his industry is seeking as CAFNR evaluates how to adapt and grow to meet today’s workforce needs, and is a strong supporter of the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute and the Missouri Institute of Cooperatives. He is part of the Board of Directors for Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow (ALOT).
“Under Janish’s leadership, FCS has continued or added key constituency activities and support such as their annual legislative day, FCS Day at the Missouri State Fair, Missouri Farmers Care and the Missouri State Fair Foundation. FCS is a committed partner with the other agriculture and commodity groups on key issues that affect the industry,” said nominator Robin Wenneker, who is a currently serving as a University of Missouri Curator, as well as serving as Trustee and Member of the Executive Committee for the CAFNR Foundation. “He has also created an FCS Foundation and a rural Missouri grant program. Both allow the company to impact their customers and their communities. He is an outstanding supporter of both CAFNR and the Missouri agricultural industry. While not a graduate of the University of Missouri, he has embraced his engagement with the college and the university.”
