Four CAFNR students receive Award for Academic Distinction, Hesburgh Scholarship

Ryu, Thelen graduate from LEAD21

DJ Ryu, director of CAFNR's Division of Food, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences, and Jay Thelen, professor and associate chair, Division of Biochemistry, represented Mizzou among 84 individuals from across the country who completed the LEAD21 leadership-development program. The 21st class of LEAD21 represented land-grant institutions and their strategic partners from across the nation.

2025 C-DRIG recipients announced

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Office of Research offers the CAFNR Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (C-DRIG) of up to $2,000 to support or partially support dissertation research projects proposed by doctoral students in the College. Eligible students will have completed their coursework and have advanced to candidacy or will advance to candidacy within six months of the C-DRIG awards.

The CAFNR Dissertation Research Improvement Grants (C-DRIG) are offered through the CAFNR Office of Research. The C-DRIG grant supports up to $2,000 or partially support dissertation research projects proposed by doctoral students in the College.

Mathew Kimaku, Mizzou undergraduate majoring in health science and nutrition & exercise physiology, was chosen as one of seven recipients across the university system of the Remington R. Williams Award.

Andrew Clarke honored with award from American Meat Science Association

Andrew Clarke, associate professor of food science, received the 2025 Signal Service Fellow Award from the American Meat Science Association for outstanding contributions to the meat industry. The AMSA Signal Service Fellow Award was established in 1956 and is given to members in recognition of devoted service and lasting contributions to the meat industry and to the association.  Clarke’s research focuses on meat processing technology with emphasis on restructured or low-fat meat products, supercritical fluid extraction and meat extrusion.

14 CAFNR students awarded Mizzou Forward Undergraduate Research Training Grants

Fourteen CAFNR students have been awarded Mizzou Foward Undergraduate Research Training Grants. The purpose of these fellowships is to financially support undergraduate students who are serious about pursuing a graduate education in STEM and NSF-funded fields in order to enhance their opportunity to be admitted into the graduate school of their choice.
