In addition to its fundraiser, the Agronomy Club donated multiple pumpkins from their patch. While the majority of the pumpkins were the traditional orange in color, the Agronomy Club did plant multiple pink pumpkins, too. Those were donated to Alisha’s Pink Pumpkin Painting Party, which was held in mid-October at Jefferson Farm and Garden. Bringing Joy One Pumpkin at a Time
Joe Butler secured a job with Gardener's Path, a website dedicated to helping others with gardening advice, planting pointers and in-depth reviews of products, before graduation. While having a job did relieve him of some stress, Butler’s final day as a student did come with some pressure. He was one of two graduates who spoke during the ceremony, the first time that CAFNR has had students speak.

Growing His Writing Portfolio
Hired in 2019, Verónica Negrón-Pérez has spent the past three-plus years as an assistant researcher and principal investigator at one of the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez’s agricultural experiment stations (Tropical Animal Reproduction Investigation Center) – this one located in Gurabo, on the eastern side of Puerto Rico. Meeting Her Goals
Alex Muñoz just began his new role this summer as director of student recruitment in CAFNR. His job allows him to travel throughout the state and share how CAFNR helped prepare him for the future, as well as the great hands-on learning opportunities in each of the College’s 14 degree programs. Transformative Experiences
Jason Zhang’s food science journey began in China at Jiangnan University, one of the top food science universities in the country. His first trip to the United States came after earning his undergraduate degree, when he was accepted as a graduate student at the University of Missouri. CAFNR Advisor Spotlight: Amy Marek
The Topics in Agricultural Education and Leadership course (AG_ED_LD 4001), taught by John Tummons, an associate teaching professor in the Division of Applied Social Sciences, teaches students about a variety of specialized topics related to agricultural education. Students have the opportunity to educate Missouri high school students as well, through the Agriculture Education on the Move program.

Topics in Agricultural Education and Leadership
Since graduation, Lisette Perez has been able to build on her passions for connecting with people. She recently completed an internship in Alaska focused on sharing educational information about nature with the general public. Perez was an interpretation ranger at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center in Juneau, Alaska. The site, managed by the federal government through the United States Forest Service, allows individuals to explore wildlife and nature through numerous scenic walking trails.
