Dissertation Award
Each doctoral degree program in CAFNR may submit one nomination to their respective division and the division will then send their nominee to the CAFNR Office of Research.
The effective date of the degree award or the completion of doctoral degree requirements and dissertation must be within the fall, spring and summer semesters of the prior academic year.
Nominations should be submitted as a single pdf document by email attachment to Rhonda Turner (TurnerRH@missouri.edu) in the CAFNR Office of Research.
The nomination should include:
- An extended abstract that is up to 10 double-spaced, numbered pages plus appendices containing non-textual material such as charts or tables (not to exceed an additional five pages).
- A letter of support from the nominee’s dissertation supervisor.
- Include one additional letter from one of the following:
- A member of the nominee’s dissertation committee
- An expert of the nominee’s choice from within or outside the University
Nominations will be evaluated on:
- Clarity of writing
- Scholarship
- Methods or approach
- Contributions to the field
The nomination must be received by the CAFNR Office of Research by Oct. 15.
The CAFNR Research Council will review nominations and make the final selection.
The recipient will receive an honorarium of $1,000 and a certificate. The advisor will also receive a certificate.
Thesis Award
Each master’s degree program that offers a thesis based Master’s degree may submit one nomination to their respective division and the division will then send their nominee to the CAFNR Office of Research.
