Research Summary

I have a sound knowledge of Crop Genetics and Breeding, including Molecular breeding, Mutation breeding, Tissue culture, Cytogenetics, and Biotechnology. For the last three years, I have been working on the abiotic stress (NP), emphasizing the Root System architecture of rapeseed to study the cell cycle regulation, growth, and development using a hydroponics system. Understanding this offers excellent potential for altering root architecture and water and nutrients uptake, allowing to design plants to survive under stress conditions. Plant roots serve a multitude of functions. They anchor plants, supply them with water and nutrients, and exchange various growth substances with the shoots. We seek to identify critical genes for Nitrogen/Phosphorus use efficiency by mining genomes for candidate genes, QTL mapping, GWAS, transcriptome, and proteome analysis.
