Soil and Plant Testing Laboratory
Manjula Nathan has an extension appointment in soil testing and plant analysis. Her extension program provides soil fertility, plant analyses and research-based nutrient management recommendations to agricultural producers, consumers and agribusinesses for promoting a competitive agricultural industry, a healthy environment and improved quality of life. Her research program focuses on the development of effective analytical methods, improvement and updating of soil test procedures, soil test correlations and calibrations for efficient nutrient management and environmental protection.
Nathan directs and coordinates the operations of the University of Missouri Soil Testing and Plant Diagnostic Service Laboratories, which include the Soil and Plant Testing and Extension Nematology Laboratories. Nathan is also in charge of the Missouri Soil Testing Association approval program, which ensures quality control and quality assurance of all public and private soil testing labs serving the citizens of Missouri.
