What do you do in your current role with the University of Missouri?

I am the extension weed scientist at the Fisher Delta Research, Extension and Education Center in Portageville. I conduct row crop agronomic weed research mostly on cotton, rice, soybeans, corn and peanuts. I also handle all extension responsibilities for these crops in the area, including weed control, drift and general agronomic issues.

How long have you worked in this position?

One year

What is your favorite part about the work you do?

I like working directly with growers. I love it when getting a call from a producer leads to a research project. It makes you feel like you are providing applicable answers to their everyday problems, and that is what gives me the most satisfaction.

How are you helping MU A&E Extension advance its reach and impact?

We hold consultant meetings every year as well as grower meetings that are crop specific. Also, I interact with producers and crop consultants from the bootheel of Missouri daily to talk about recommendations and future research. Participating as a guest speaker at meetings in other states also helps with outreach.

What is something your CAFNR and MU Extension teammates may not know about you?

I am an avid outdoorsman.
