What are your job duties/job responsibilities in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources? I teach undergraduate agricultural communications courses in CAFNR, and love every one of them! Kelly Nelson, Gurpreet Kaur and Gurbir Singh’s paper, Impacts and strategies for crop production in waterlogged or flooded soils: A review, was named a top cited article in the Agronomy Journal. This work has a significant impact in Missouri and globally since flooding is one of the most damaging abiotic stresses besides drought.

Making a Great First Impression
Greg Chase has returned to his alma mater a handful of times to share his expertise with University of Missouri students on proper dining etiquette in a business setting. Chase graduated with a degree in hospitality management from Mizzou in 2007, and is certified by the Protocol School of Washington as a corporate etiquette and international protocol consultant. Cultivating Future Leaders
The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) recently awarded 54 predoctoral fellowship grants to develop new scientists and professionals to enter research, education and/or Extension fields within the food and agricultural sciences. The aim of these fellowships is to cultivate future leaders who can solve emerging agricultural challenges of the 21st century. Two Nutrition and Exercise Physiology Students Win Poster Awards
Neil McMillian and Eric Lis were awarded poster awards at the Cardiovascular Research Day hosted by the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center. McMillian was awarded the Graduate Student award for his poster titled Increased Muscle Sympathetic Nerve Activity Hyperinsulinemia: Role of Insulin-simulated Peripheral Vasodilation and the Response of the Arterial Baroreflex. Abner Womack Receives the Jay B. Dillingham Award for Agricultural Leadership and Excellence
The Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City honored Abner Womack May 18 at a luncheon in the Chamber Board Room in Kansas City’s historic Union Station. Womack, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Economics and co-founder of the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute (FAPRI-MU) at the University of Missouri, received the Council’s highest award, the Jay B. Dillingham Award for Agricultural Leadership and Excellence.
