
Heather Bowden, office support assistant IV, was recognized as CAFNR’s newest Driver to Distinction honoree Dec. 15 during a surprise ceremony in Waters Hall. Vice Chancellor and Dean Christopher Daubert presented the award. Heike Bücking, director of the Division of Plant Science and Technology, also attended.
Bowden was nominated by Melanie Carraher, who praised her dedication to creating a welcoming and efficient environment.
“Heather is an outstanding asset to Waters Hall. She is consistently helpful, kind, and attentive to the needs of everyone in the building,” Carraher said. “Heather makes sure research meetings and visitors are taken care of, always putting in the extra effort to see that everything runs smoothly. She is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and faculty, and she responds quickly and effectively whenever an issue arises. Her supportive nature, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile make a tremendous difference in our community. Heather’s dedication and hard work are deeply appreciated, and she is highly deserving of this recognition.”
