What are your job duties/job responsibilities in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources?
I serve as an associate teaching professor in the Division of Food, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences and as a CAFNR AI Fellow. My responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in nutrition and exercise physiology, mentoring students and supporting faculty efforts to responsibly integrate AI into teaching and research. I also participate in curriculum design, service activities and research projects that focus on increasing physical activity in and outside the classroom.
How long have you worked in CAFNR?
I joined CAFNR in Fall 2021 and have been grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a forward-thinking and collaborative college.
What do you enjoy about working for CAFNR/Mizzou?
What stands out most to me is the sense of community and shared purpose across the diverse disciplines in the college. CAFNR brings together people who are passionate about solving real-world problems, whether it’s food systems, sustainability or human health. I also appreciate the flexibility to explore new teaching strategies and collaborate across departments and with other programs at MU, especially in areas like AI innovation and student engagement.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Outside of work, I enjoy strength training, swimming and outdoor adventures with my family. I also love vegetable gardening, growing tomatoes, peppers and making my own hot sauce.
What is something your co-workers/other CAFNR employees don’t know about you?
I used to build handmade wooden fishing lures and even had a small side business making custom baits for fishing. It’s a hobby I hope to revisit with my sons when they’re a bit older.
