Hank Stelzer, associate professor of forestry, state extension specialist in forestry and education director of extension natural resources, has been given the Donald W. Fancher Provost Award for Outstanding Achievement in Extension and Continuing Education.

Mandy Bish recognized with Provost’s Award for Creative Extension Programming by New Faculty

Mandy Bish, assistant professor and extension plant pathologist, has been chosen to receive the Provost’s Award for Creative Extension Programming by New Faculty. Bish also serves as the MU Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Coordinator and director of SCN Diagnostics. Her research is focused on identifying economical and sustainable solutions for disease management in crop production with specific focus on corn and soybeans. This award recognizes faculty with a current (at least 25 percent) extension assignment who have made exceptional accomplishments in their first four years of service to MU in the field of extension or continuing education.

CAFNR center receives Program of Distinction designation, joins 12 others in the college

The National Center for Applied Reproduction and Genomics (NCARG) is joining the ranks of MU’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources’ (CAFNR) Programs of Distinction, a designation that points to programs that help define CAFNR’s impact on Missouri’s agricultural and natural resources economies and provide understanding for how CAFNR is addressing the challenges presented in our state.
