Adam Yokom, assistant professor of Biochemistry, received the CAFNR Golden Apple Award Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, in a surprise ceremony led by Bryan Garton, senior associate dean and director of academic programs; Michael Chapman, director of the Division of Biochemistry; and many colleagues.

Hendrickson’s research tackles a variety of food system topics. She examines food system structure; alternative ways of participating in the food system for farmers, consumers and communities and the social, economic and ecological impacts thereof; and the impacts of food system organization and technological change on international farming systems.

Celebrating Missouri’s perennial harvest at the Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival

This year’s Missouri Chestnut Roast will take place 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, at HARF, and will include crowd-favorite activities such as roasted chestnut samples, live music, kids' activities and tours of the historic Hickman House. This year the festival also offers opportunities to buy a locally sourced lunch prepared by Pasta La Fata, take a wagon tour of the research farm, purchase plants and trees, pick your own pumpkin, sample custom-made agroforestry ice cream flavors crafted by Buck’s Ice Cream Place, and explore more than 30 agroforestry vendors, educational organizations and artisans.
