Q: Why did you choose to come to the University of Missouri?
A: I chose Mizzou because it had a wonderful Hospitality Management program and a community of students that I would be able to thrive in. My parents and siblings have all attended Mizzou, which made me very familiar with its offerings.

Q: Why did you choose to pursue your degree?
A: I chose Hospitality Management because I love to work with and serve people in any capacity. I personally love the special events and weddings side of Hospitality Management because it can be very fast paced, and I get to meet so many new people through my job.

Q: Did you partake in any research, study abroad, or internship opportunities? What did you enjoy about those experiences?
A: I studied abroad in Italy for six weeks in the summer of 2023. I really enjoyed my experience of living with the locals, attending classes and working my internship in the cafe and restaurant at the Florence University of Arts where I learned to make wonderful coffee, pair and serve wine and alcoholic beverages at dinner service. For my internship, I worked with Missouri FFA to plan their 2024 Missouri State Convention Exposition that hosted 5,000+ FFA students on Mizzou’s campus. I was also a Hospitality Management Department Ambassador, and I worked at Tiger Garden in the events and wedding department.

Q: What is a favorite memory you have during your time in CAFNR?
A: My favorite memory that I had while in CAFNR was during CAFNR Week when all of their activities were happening and I was able to participate with my friends while making new friends.

Q: How did your degree program prepare you for the future?
A:  The Hospitality Management program prepared me for my future by letting me have real-world experiences through internships, capstone projects, and study abroad. These experiences were very hands-on and applicable to what I will be doing after graduation.

Q: What are your future plans?
A: My plan directly after graduation: I will be freelancing in the Mid-Missouri area with different Event & Wedding planning companies as a planner and day-of coordinator.
