Equipped for the Eclipse

A solar eclipse will overtake the skies across the United States on Monday, Aug. 21. The University of Missouri is fortunate to be in the path of total darkness – and our College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources is making the most of the rare opportunity. Christopher R. Daubert

I am so pleased to finally be in Columbia, be on campus, and officially be your Vice Chancellor and Dean! It seems like much longer than a month and a half has passed since I met many of you at Buck’s. Thank you for the warm welcome that day, and since then, as I continue settling into this new role.

I will be traveling frequently to visit with alumni, friends, and other stakeholders over the next few months. It is a top priority for me to meet with as many folks as possible, to listen about the challenges and opportunities facing our college over the next few years, as we begin to plan for our shared future. I am calling this our “CAFNR Convoy!”

I need your help with this undertaking! I welcome everyone to share ideas with me, and have me visit with audiences you bring to campus. We have online forms set up to schedule these meetings and speaking opportunities. You are always welcome to email me directly with ideas, questions, or concerns at cafnrdean@missouri.edu.

There also will be opportunities for faculty and staff members to join me on those visits with stakeholders, as an official part of a CAFNR Convoy!

And while I am in and out of the office, I welcome you to keep up with my travels by checking our CAFNR Convoy webpage, following me on Twitter, and keeping an eye out for a weekly message I will begin sending soon just to you, our CAFNR faculty and staff.

It is a thrilling time, and I intend to share the experience with you as we drive CAFNR to distinction!

CAFNR Proud!
