A degree in hospitality management from the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources prepares graduates with business and managerial skills to succeed in those hospitality management careers. The curriculum includes core hospitality business principles, hospitality management concepts, and advanced skills in a variety of industry segments, such as events and conferences, hotels and lodging, restaurant management, sport venues and entertainment management.

All CAFNR undergraduate students take part in a “signature experience” during their time on campus. This is denoted as the “RISE” Initiative: Research, International, Service learning, Experiential learning.

While Darius Robinson’s dedication to football has been evident each season (he was named a team captain), he has also stayed committed in the classroom. Robinson said he chose the hospitality management degree program because of his interest in the hospitality industry, especially when related to tourism. Robinson was also recently named First-Team Academic All-American from College Sports Communicators.

CAFNR Has a Lot to Offer

Each of the 14 degree programs in CAFNR impact the largest industries in the region and address the most significant challenges in our world today, including agricultural policy and economics; tourism and hospitality; food nutrition, production, processing and safety; environmental sustainability; and animal and human health.

  • CAFNR awards $1.5 million in scholarships annually
  • Graduation rate is 17% higher than state and national averages
  • 98.8% of graduates are employed full-time or enrolled in graduate school
  • 200-plus employers recruit CAFNR students
  • 51% of CAFNR students graduate debt free
  • Multiple accelerated programs provide opportunities to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees simultaneously
