CAFNR Hosts Metabolics Association of North America »

Last week, the Metabolics Association of North America (MANA) was welcomed to the MU Campus for its fifth annual conference. Conference-goers had the opportunity to hear from 68 speakers and five lightening talks over five days. The conference took place at Memorial Union and Bond Life Sciences Center.

Ukrainian Farmers Visit CAFNR

Organized by MU student group, MUkraine, a group of Ukrainian farmers visited CAFNR on Oct. 26. The group spent much of the day visiting with researchers and faculty and viewing research facilities. They ended their day at Mizzou with a presentation about farming in the war zone and a reception at Conservation Hall.

Register online to participate in the CAFNR Grants Office’s fall grants workshop, Grants, Myths and Legends.

Meet your CAFNR grants office, dispel myths, and discover the truth behind the legends in our fall grants workshop. We will discuss federal sponsors, budget limitations, and subawards, and Rob Myers will present on successful strategies for obtaining grants.

All sessions virtual and will be recorded. All faculty, research scientists, postdocs, and grad students are invited to attend. Feel free to come and go as needed throughout the workshop. All sessions will be conducted through the same Zoom meeting.

DASS Faculty Member Appointed to Committee With American Association for Agricultural Education

Rebecca Mott, assistant professor of agricultural education and leadership in the Division of Applied Social Sciences, has been appointed to a three-year term on the North Central Region’s Research Committee with the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE).

DASS Professor Named Editor of Journal of Consumer Affairs

Rui Yao, professor of personal financial planning in the Division of Applied Social Sciences, was recently appointed as editor of the Journal of Consumer Affairs.

NEP Staff Recognized by MoCAN

Jennifer Anderson, a senior research specialist in Nutrition, Exercise and Physiology, was recently recognized by the Missouri Council for Activity and Nutrition (MoCAN) with a 2023 Healthcare Professional Award.
