The overall intent of the Biology of Animal Production I with Laboratory (AN_SCI 1165) course, taught by Hannah Twenter, an instructor of animal sciences, is to provide an introduction to modern livestock production systems with emphasis on fundamental biological principles and their application in management of production animals.

Alex Muñoz shares all CAFNR has to offer as director of student recruitment

• CAFNR, along with the Jerry Litton Family Memorial Foundation, hosted its third Litton Lecture Series on Thursday, Nov. 10, and invited the public to hear from featured speaker Rick Rigsby. Rigsby shared the wisdom of past generations — wisdom that inspires, motivates and empowers individual to make an impact rather than an impression.
• The Forestry Club sent 12 team members to a timber sports competition, known as a Conclave, in late October, coming home with first-place honors. The event was held at the Touch of Nature Outdoor Education Center and hosted by Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
• The University of Missouri soil judging team competed in the Region 5 contest in early October, finishing second place overall. Iowa State University hosted the event, which featured seven teams and more than 50 students. Aleksandra (Alex) Kalisz, a junior environmental sciences student, finished second place among individual contestants.

• CAFNR welcomed alum Tyne Morgan, host of U.S. Farm Report, to campus in early November for the live taping of the College Roadshow. There were two competitions that student organizations participated in, with the top performers earning money for their club.
