The CAFNR Staff Advisory Council invites you to join them as they work through “Race, Racism, and the American Experience,” a self-guided curriculum available through the MU Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. From Monday, Sept. 14, through Friday, Nov. 20, they will work through the curriculum week by week. The course is divided into 10 days, although Staff Council will ask participants to complete one program day per calendar week for 10 weeks. Every week is designed around a specific topic, with resources and activities structured in four steps: Learn, Reflect, Take Actions, and Explore. The goal is that together participants will: disarm preconceived notions; cultivate a practice grounded in self-reflection; and better understand our role as life-long learners. The curriculum is ultimately self-guided: only you can do the work. However, the Staff Council — by way of anonymous weekly check-ins — will help keep you on track as everyone works through the curriculum together. Contact Amy Moum with any questions, mouma@missouri.edu.
