Cultivating Diversity & Inclusion

The CAFNR Office of Marketing and Communications has created an editorial calendar to guide content for CAFNR’s website, newsletters and social media. The main focus of the creation of the calendar was to include special months and other holidays for a variety of areas, with special focus on recognizing months related to inclusion, diversity, equity and compassion, such as Black History Month, National Latinx Heritage Month, American Indian Heritage Month, Asian Pacific Heritage Month, Juneteenth, Mental Health Awareness Month, Disability Culture Month, Women’s History Month, LGBTQ Pride Month, Veterans Day, and more. It has also been helpful for compiling College events and anniversaries, in addition to special days and months related to CAFNR’s majors and focus areas.

“This helps us be consistent and meaningful in our celebrations and acknowledgments of special events significant to our CAFNR community, as well as plan content for our different communication efforts,” said Director Michelle Enger. “This will help show how CAFNR is a compassionate and inclusive college, when all feel as though their background and interests are acknowledged and celebrated.”

The calendar will always be a work in progress, and Enger encourages faculty and staff members to share content and recognition suggestions.
