Hannah Hemmelgarn Received Inaugural Inclusion Cultivator Award at Celebration of Excellence  »

Hannah Hemmelgarn, assistant program director for the Center for Agroforestry, was honored with the inaugural Inclusive Cultivator Award during CAFNR’s 2023 Celebration of Excellence ceremony.

This award was established in 2023 by the CAFNR Inclusivity and Diversity Committee to honor those who create and nurture healthy communities and a diverse culture within CAFNR. The recipients help to cultivate a welcoming, open-minded and vibrant environment to facilitate pathways to success for all.

This commitment to diversity and inclusion can be realized in many way such as a commitment to

  1. Recruitment and retention of students, faculty, staff from diverse backgrounds and mindsets,
  2. Establishing an environment that recognizes and encourages the diversity,
  3. Promoting and fostering of diversity programs such as mentoring, support networks, internship programs, diversity training and
  4. Developing accountability/tracking methods to quantify efforts to increase and maintain diversity.

Tiger Garden’s Warm Season Plant Sale will be April 27-28. You can stop by from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days to pick up flowers and vegetables for summer!

  • Nilesh Salvi, senior research scientist, Division of Food, Nutrition & Exercise Sciences, celebrated five years of service March 5.
  • Hye Lee, research scientist, Division of Animal Sciences, celebrated five years of service March 9.
  • Rebecca Mott, assistant teaching professor, Division of Applied Social Sciences, celebrated 10 years of service March 11.
  • Christopher Davis, research specialist, Division of Plant Science & Technology, celebrated five years of service March 12.
  • Wonseok Kim, senior research specialist, Division of Plant Science & Technology, celebrated five years of service March 26.
