A Message from the Associate Dean of Research
 (click to read)

As we approach the end of another year in CAFNR, I find myself reflecting on the achievement, collaboration and innovation that has come from researchers in disciplines across our college in 2023.

As you know, researchers in our college brought in record grant funding this year, excelling far beyond the goals we had set for ourselves five years ago. This speaks to the outstanding faculty, staff, students and partners I have the privilege to work with.

As we bid farewell to 2023, let us carry forward the spirit of collaboration, curiosity and excellence that defines CAFNR. Together, we look forward to another year of pushing boundaries and inspiring the next generation of leaders and thinkers.

Due to winter break, there will be no Research Digest on Dec. 28. In the meantime, I hope you all have a restful and joyful holiday season and winter break.

Shibu Jose
Associate Dean for Research and Director of MOAES

CAFNR Equipment Matching Grant Program

The CAFNR Office of Research is excited to announce its new Equipment Matching Grant Program.

The program provides matching support for the purchase of major equipment that will advance the infrastructure available for research and will help improve research metrics identified in the CAFNR Strategic Plan. The equipment must be shared by several faculty members. Proposals must demonstrate matching funds.

If you have questions or are interested in applying, additional information is available online.

Applications are due by Jan. 31, 2024.

A Winter Break Message from the CAFNR Grants Office

The CAFNR Grants Office is observing Winter Break. If a proposal is due during or the week after Winter Break, final submission documents must be submitted no later than the close of business on Friday, Dec. 15. Please contact Jeri Lou Zimmerman as soon as possible if you have a proposal during that time.

There are also NIH deadlines the first of January and February. Please notify Jeri Lou Zimmerman if you are planning to submit to any of those deadlines so someone can be assigned to help you with that proposal.
