Why did you want to become a CAFNR Ambassador? As a freshman at Mizzou, I was very nervous coming to campus from a small town, during a pandemic. However, my worries were soon eased through the opportunities and experiences offered by CAFNR. Professors and faculty are always there if you need to reach out, and pushed me to excel both academically and personally. With the smaller class sizes and their support, my transition from high school to college was easier. Not only that, but CAFNR has so many resources available to students, like CAFNR Career Services and hands-on experiences such as Study Abroad, undergraduate research opportunities, student-run retail, competitive judging teams, the Equine Center, and more. On-campus, CAFNR also has over 50 clubs you can get involved in. With all of these opportunities, CAFNR helped make a big college feel small. It helped me find a like-minded and inclusive community that strives to better everything they do. With all of this in mind, I can proudly say that I made the right choice to become a part of CAFNR, and because of this, I wanted to showcase CAFNR to potential MU students by becoming a CAFNR Ambassador.

What has been your favorite part of your degree program so far? My favorite part of the Hospitality Management program has been how I have gotten to know other students, my professors, and my advisors personally through CAFNR and major-specific events, Zoom calls, classes, and club meetings. Everyone I have met in the program is so welcoming. They all want you to be successful in your education, future career, and also personal growth.

Best study spot? I love getting a snack and studying on the first floor of the library!

Best place for a snack or coffee? I love going to the Catalyst Café close to the CAFNR building for a snack or coffee!

Dream career? My dream job would be to be an event planner for a non-profit or to work in a Convention and Visitors Bureau.

What do you love about CAFNR? I love how everyone in CAFNR roots for your success. Professors and faculty all help you grow in your education, and there are so many resources offered in CAFNR like Career Services, Study Abroad, undergraduate research opportunities, and more to help you thrive during your time in college.

What advice do you have for incoming students? My advice for incoming students would be to get involved! Getting involved in organizations and clubs can help you grow in your field and as a person. CAFNR has over 50 clubs where you can develop leadership skills, meet new friends, explore your interests, and network with students and professionals in your industry.
