Rural economic development

Entrepreneurial studies

Spatial analysis

My research focuses broadly on rural economic development. I am especially interested in entrepreneurship as an economic development strategy, particularly in the domestic context. Past research has examined rural manufacturing, local and regional food marketing, broadband infrastructure, and entrepreneurship and innovation.

My extension efforts are closely aligned with supporting Community Economic Development county engagement specialists and working with the ExCEED program.
