Cultivating Diversity & Inclusion

The third meeting of the IDE Journal Club, sponsored by CAFNR’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Compassion Committee, will be on a topic related to Biochemistry and will be held Tuesday, April 12, 12-1 p.m. in ABNR 210.

Topic: Polio and Covid Wars

Yale historian of medicine Naomi Rogers, PhD, discusses and compares the US response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Polio pandemic, with regards to racial disparities during both pandemics, access to treatment and vaccines, and implications for social and health policy.

Please listen to this 44-minute talk before the meeting and be prepared to engage in meaningful dialogue.

Save the dates for future meetings. All meetings will occur in 210 ABNR. We are still looking for recommendations (podcasts, short readings, blogs) for future meetings. Email if you have a resource you would like to lead and host a meeting.
