Tracy Kitchel, associate professor and director of graduate studies, Department of Agricultural Education, has been awarded a national 2011 New Teacher Award from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU).

Each year many of CAFNR’s research centers host Ag Education days and Field Days. The events expose students to the diverse career opportunities in agriculture, and bring the latest agricultural research to the public.
Bryan L. Garton was recently named interim associate dean and director of academic programs for MU’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources. He previously served as CAFNR’s assistant dean of academic programs and professor of agricultural education.
In this case, the backup is a new, but as yet unnamed, CAFNR program designed to be a clearinghouse for teaching improvement and professional development.
This year’s Outstanding Senior, Ashley Noblitt from Bolivar, Mo., is getting her wish to be a teacher. She has accepted a position as an agricultural education teacher and FFA adviser in Hermitage, Mo.
