2012 Outstanding Junior: Kari Weis
Kari Weis is from Highland, Ill., and is studying Science and Agricultural Journalism.
Kari Weis has earned a cumulative GPA of 3.61, and has been on the CAFNR Dean's List since December 2009. She is a member of the CAFNR Student Development Board and promotes alumni relations through special projects. Since 2009 she has been the Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority's Public Relations Committee Director.
Weis is also a member of the CAFNR Week Steering Committee, MU Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, the Ag in the Classroom program and Relay for Life. Her work experiences include being a research assistant at Syngenta. As a writing intern at Cummins Consulting, she organized and managed 600 writing entries for the American Agricultural Editors Association writing contest. She also created a Powerpoint displaying the winners and an iMovie for the photography contest.
