Thomas Mershon

THOMAS MERSHON is from Lee's Summit, Mo. and is studying Agricultural Journalism.

He is a member of the Mizzou Alumni Association Student Board, Mizzou Alumni Association Finance Committee (Student Representative), the CAFNR Week Steering Committee (Fundraising Committee), the CAFNR Executive-in-Residence Advisory Board, the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and the Dickinson Scholars, among others.

"SO MUCH OF A PERSON'S SUCCESS IS DETERMINED BY THE ATTITUDE IN WHICH THEY CHOOSE TO GREET EACH DAY. THOMAS IS UNFAILINGLY UPBEAT AND LOW-KEY. BUT DON'T LET HIS DEMEANOR FOOL YOU. HE HAS ATTAINED LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AMONG A VARIETY OF CAMPUS-WIDE AND CAFNR ORGANIZATIONS. HE BRINGS A SHARP MIND FULL OF CREATIVE IDEAS, AND THE KIND OF COMMON SENSE ATTITUDE THAT INSPIRES TRUST. THIS ALLOWS HIM TO REACH OUT AND INFLUENCE A WIDE RANGE OF PEOPLE."

— Sharon Wood-Turley, assistant professor, MU agricultural journalism

"I have dedicated myself to the betterment of CAFNR," Mershon said. "This personal commitment is one that I take great pride in. I hope that all students will come to know and care about CAFNR in the same way."
